Edinburg – The Hidalgo County Commissioners Court on Tuesday approved of a lateral transfer of the wife of County Commissioner, Joseph Palacio’s from Health and Human Services Department to the Public Relations Department. Palacios’s abstained from the vote.

Edinburg – After being elected three times as Hidalgo County Judge, Ramon Garcia has finally decided to give up the gavel. Garcia had cited interest in returning to law full time as primary reason to not seek a re-election bid. Despite Garcia’s intent on whether to run, a slew of established challengers hovered from above, seeking their own bid on a highly coveted position. On September 14, the Hidalgo County Democratic Party appointed local activist, Miguel Angel Garza to a chair position.
On the surface, it would appear that Mr. Garza is your average Democratic operative. Using his influence, skills, and networking capabilities, Miguel Angel Garza seeks to ensure local Democrats maintain or obtain elected office.
